Cervinia and Zermatt are well known for its high altitude mountains, the <strong>skiing all year round<\/strong> and the world famous Matterhorn mountain, which is perched high up majestically overlooking the valleys. <\/p>\n<p>The resorts of Zermatt and Cervinia share the same ski area \u2013 the 20 lifts in <strong>Cervinia<\/strong> and 34 in Zermatt total up at 160km of Italian and 200km of Swiss turf. But that\u2019s not all they have in common. Both lie at the foot of that most iconic of mountains: the Matterhorn. <\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve seen pictures, you\u2019ll understand why skiing in full view of that geological wonder is yet another tick box on the diehard skier\u2019s bucket list. So what do you choose? <strong>Zermatt or Cervinia?<\/strong> Both resorts have their pros and cons. However being on the Italian side of the Matterhorn really does have its <strong>benefits. T<\/strong>he ski pass alone will cost you less in Cervinia than it does in Zermatt and not to mention the day to day living costs, restaurants, apr\u00e8s ski, and chalet accommodation. <\/p>\n<p>On the Italian side, the <strong>slopes are mostly suitable for intermediate skiers,<\/strong> with a few tougher slopes to choose from.
