Lago Blu is one of the most famous and photographed spots near Cervinia. It sits along the road from Valtournenche to Breuil-Cervinia, and is easy to reach — just a few minutes’ drive from the centre, or a pleasant half-hour walk.
Surrounded by centuries-old larches, on clear days it puts on a unique show: the Matterhorn reflected in its waters, creating one of the most striking views in the Aosta Valley.
It’s a destination suited to everyone — ideal for non-skiers, families, couples, and anyone travelling with a dog. A few steps away are also the Layet lakes, small spring-fed lakes set in nature, perfect for extending the walk.
In winter, or after snowfall, it’s a good idea to wear suitable footwear, as the path can be slippery.
